Banten

Banten is a province on the island of Java, Indonesia. The province was once a part of West Java province, but separated since 2000, with the decision of the  UU No. 23 year 2000. Central government is in the Serang City.

Banten province has a limit, among others: the north bordering the sea java. East with Jakarta and West Java Province. West of the Sunda Strait as well as South of the ocean Indonesia.

Marine area of Banten is one potential sea routes, the Sunda Strait is one of the sea strategic lanes of traffic can be passed by as a large ship that connects Australia and New Zealand to South East Asia such as Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. In addition Banten is a path connecting between Java and Sumatra.

In the economy of Banten has a lot of industries. Banten Province has developed a sea port in anticipation to accommodate the excess capacity of sea ports in Jakarta and is intended to be an alternative port of Singapore.
